While many of us find purpose of our lives through money, power, and wealth Babu our beloved brother and a true friend found his through various types of social and community activities.
Babu lived his life doing the right thing for others in our community without asking for anything in return. His ability to understand people and their struggles most importantly being able to make people feel they are not alone was magical.
Babu believed in a healthy society, a community that is united, intellectually connected, based on sports, art, cultural values, personal, religious, and social development. He worked 33 years (1987-2020) relentlessly to spread the power and love of sports, art, education, democracy, cultural, and social values to combat societal bureaucratic struggles.
It was not money or power, it was Babu’s ability to connect, integrate, being patient, listen and most importantly empower people at all different age groups, gender, colour, language, or background that was the pinnacle of Babu’s success story.
Needless to say, Babu had been offered a number of opportunities along the way of money, position, power but they were never bigger than his vision - ‘a healthy community that is united, intellectually connected, based on sports, art, cultural values, personal and social development’.
In our eyes Babu is an outright winner. Babu is not born every day, but when one is, Babu lives within us forever.
